Rhino Surface Mapper is an independent companion tool for Elite Dangerous Commanders, created to make Surface Mining with the Rhino SRV easier to explore systematically.
The application follows your SRV position and heading in real time and builds a surface map as you drive. It helps you see which areas have already been searched, record Planetary Mining Deposits and other points of interest, plan search routes, and navigate back to previously recorded locations.

Rhino Surface Mapper began as a personal solution to a practical Surface Mining problem: avoiding repeated coverage, knowing which areas had already been investigated, and remembering where useful deposits had been found. It has since grown into a more complete mapping and navigation companion that I hope will also be useful to other Commanders.
Rhino Surface Mapper is currently available as a portable Beta for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The project is open source and licensed under GNU GPL-3.0.
